About The Project
Green Collar Farms (GCF) is different than most farms. For one, the first GCF farm is located in an enclosed semi trailer sitting in a parking lot in downtown Grand Rapids. You’d never guess that within that one trailer is 2 acres worth of produce being grown year round. GCF produces food using the soilless hydroponic techniques and a portion of the growing process is controlled with a smart phone. The goal was to invite local chefs to come visit the farm and taste the locally grown produce. I wanted the invite to have a local, down to earth feel. Even though the process of how the food is grown is high tech, the product is as natural as food grown in your backyard.
